Welcome to Vietnam!

Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide holding an Asia Pathfinders welcome sign in the arrivals hall. From here, you will be transferred to your hotel in Hoi An, a journey of approximately 40 minutes. Along the way, you will catch glimpses of Da Nang, the third-largest seaport city in Vietnam.

Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a charming ancient town known for its beautifully preserved architecture, vibrant culture, and diverse attractions. Whether you’re interested in shopping, dining, photography, history, or simply relaxing, Hoi An has something for everyone. It is also famous for its skilled tailoring services, offering a wide range of fabrics and designs.

After breakfast, begin your day with a walking tour of Hoi An’s UNESCO-listed landmarks. Highlights include:

  • A visit to a private family home where traditions have been preserved for centuries.
  • Exploring a family chapel built by wealthy merchants to honor their ancestors.
  • The Sa Huynh Museum, which showcases artifacts from Hoi An’s earliest history.
  • The iconic Japanese Covered Bridge Pagoda, constructed in 1593 to connect the Japanese and Chinese quarters.

Later in the morning, immerse yourself in a lantern-making workshop. Guided by local artisans, you will learn about this traditional craft and create your own colorful lantern to take home.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel pool or the nearby beach. Optional activities include spa treatments or massage packages.

After breakfast, embark on a 50-kilometer drive to My Son Sanctuary, a cluster of ancient Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Champa kings. These temples, dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, reflect the influence of Hindu culture. During the Vietnam War, many structures were destroyed, but 20 remain intact, offering a glimpse into this historical site.

The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Afterward, return to Hoi An for an afternoon of leisure. Options include relaxing by the pool, visiting the beach, or exploring optional tours like countryside cycling, fishing, or photography.

After breakfast, depart Hoi An for Hue, Vietnam’s Royal City. The 4-hour drive includes stops at:

  • Marble Mountain, a cluster of limestone and marble hills.
  • Non-Nuoc Stone Carving Village, known for its skilled artisans.
  • My Khe Beach, a former site of American GIs during the war.
  • Hai Van Pass, offering stunning views and photo opportunities from its 500-meter summit.

Arrive in Hue around midday and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, embark on a “back of the bike” tour. With a skilled driver, you will explore Hue’s hidden gems, including local markets, canals, a king’s tomb, a pagoda, and traditional handicrafts. The tour also covers the Hue Citadel and Forbidden Purple City, offering insights into Vietnam’s imperial history.

Alternatively, you can opt for a private vehicle tour.

Nature enthusiasts will love exploring Bach Ma National Park, located in the Truong Son mountain range. This biodiversity hotspot covers over 22,000 hectares and is home to 330 bird species and 55 mammal species.

After breakfast, depart Hue around 8:00 AM. Upon arrival at the park, a specialized guide will brief you on the day’s itinerary. Begin with an 8-kilometer drive to the Pheasant Trail, which leads to a junction of two rivers—ideal for spotting Blyth’s Kingfisher. The trek takes approximately 2 hours.

After lunch, continue to the Five Lake Trail, where you can swim and relax. Look out for wildlife such as the Slaty-backed Forktail bird. Spend the night at the Do Quyen guesthouse.

Overnight in Bach Ma National Park. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Start your day early with breakfast at 5:30 AM. At 6:30 AM, head to the Summit Trail for panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding forest. Follow the trail through secondary forests and the orchid garden, spotting rare birds like the Red-collared Woodpecker and Silver Pheasant.

After lunch, bid farewell to Bach Ma National Park and drive back to Hoi An. Spend your evening at leisure.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Hoi An before checking out by midday. Your private driver will transfer you to Da Nang International Airport for your departure flight home.
